We are seeking a Technical Support, CE&I Bulk Materials Handling, Centurion, Gauteng to join our Technical Support Team.

 

Technical Support for Bulk Materials Handling forms part of the Technical Support Services – Africa team, in support of the Sales Areas for the Africa Market Area (MA Africa), resulting in the provision of technical solutions to support a sale.

Bulk Materials Handling (BMH) is one of the products under the Grinding, Bulk and Pyro (GBP) portfolio, which requires technical competence as well as sales orientated drive to assist in pushing the sale through. This role is a pivotal in terms of aligning the Global Product Line specialists with the Market Area (MA) sales teams.

Essentially, the Technical Support role works with the Sales Area to effectively deliver a “technical solution” that meets the customer’s needs and works closely with the Global Technical Bulk Materials Handling Business Line.

 

In this position, you will report to Head of Technical Sales Support – Services.

This position is mainly located in Centurion, Gauteng.

 

TEAM YOU BELONG TO

You will join the Technical Support Team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such Management, Product Line Engineering, Other Engineers, Suppliers and Sub-Contractors, Clients, and Site Staff.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Providing high CE&I technical expertise in the area of troubleshooting, process knowledge, technical incidents, operation and maintenance for “BMH, predominately yard machines”. Through site visits and using Digital and Remote services (i.e. Augmented Reality) Specializing to own technology areas in order to provide expertise support in site operations and technology related incidents and inquiries or problems Technical warranty and complaint handling         Act as a trainer for internal/external technical trainings, including certification program Expertise support for problem management, technical sales support, R&D and product development Expertise support for Field Service, Life Cycle Services teams Support IB Validation; CTO and ETO quotation development through solution definition and technical research​; inspection report reviews, recommendations and solution as requested​ Support Customer Logistics team with quotation clarifications Internal and external training Understanding, planning and meeting the training requirements for internal and external customers (PL training material)

 

WHO YOU ARE

Matric (Grade 12) Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 year’s field experience in BMH or, BTech / BSc / BEng with a minimum of 5 years field experience Must have experience of applications in BMH yard machines, stacker reclaimers/tipplers  Must have up to date understanding & knowledge as a technical product specialist Understanding and experience of sales and financials Familiarity with a broad range of upgrades and modernisations Familiar with the core processes of the sales process Experience in complex relationships

Position requires support management expertise, good customer relation skills, ability to work within a team environment, mechanical aptitude, creativity, innovation, and ability to see the larger picture High sense of urgency and passion for service and support Supervision skills Strong relationship building skills, a bias for action and detail-oriented behaviours A high level of computer skills is essential – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet the deadlines Ability to work in a team atmosphere Client skills including building and managing relationships, negotiation skills and understanding of customer needs and market requirements Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, and organizing, prioritizing tasks and working in a fast-paced environment Strong communication, co-operation, interpersonal and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces Ability to travel regularly While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb and balance The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Use of keyboards, telephones, copiers, telefax, visits and movement through shops, and travel experiences
