*Candidate must be legally eligible to be hired directly by the Commonwealth of VA. Position could be converted to fulltime position within two months, however, fulltime employment is not guaranteed. Fulltime salary range 41-46K with state benefits

Telecommunications Services provides state-of-the-art telecommunications technology (voice and data communications services and equipment) to the entire University and VCUHS community as well as University resident students. Telecommunications Services generates more than $9 million in revenue annually.

 

Maintain/support and troubleshoot applications integrated with Telecommunications Services operation of the Avaya S87XX switches, Modular Messaging, and adjunct servers/systems. Assist in the planning, design, implementation, and/or enhancement of new services and technologies for the University and VCUHS.

 

-Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty and staff to provide technical support for telecommunications services.

-Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex information to non-technical audiences.

-Working knowledge of Windows, Oracle or SQL databases.

-Outstanding customer service skills.

-Excellent written and oral communications skills.

-Strong organizational skills.

-Demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple tasks with the ability to work in a diverse work environment.

-Ability to demonstrate proficiency in spreadsheet, database, email, and word processing applications; working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Google Mail preferred.

-Ability to work successfully in teams and independently.
