Requisition ID 32747 Category Engineering Position Type Full-Time About the Role Canon USA in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Technical Support Engineer 2 (Engineer, Technical Support 2). The Technical Support Engineer 2 will work with the Strategy Service and Support for support for the Dealer Channel and other OPCO's.
 
This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days).  Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs. Your Impact - Provides hardware or software technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex equipment
- Responds to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software
- Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering
- Provides support to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature
- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
- Maintains ongoing dialog with global HQ quality management staff
- Provides open case escalation support and performs appropriate lab investigations
- Assists other department members with their escalated cases and quality assurance investigations
- Performs trend analysis on a Product Family level
- Analyzes potential issues and begins inputting information to Canon Inc database with Senior Engineer guidance
- Analyzes Canon Inc information and creates Canon USA documentation with Senior Engineer's guidance
- Leads Technical Transfer sessions
- Supports the material development for Technical Transfers
- Develops department documentation (Technical Publications, SMB, and performance reports) that is clear, concise and correct
- Provides ideas for field documentation
- Creates Technical Connection documentation
- Develops and designs products, systems or protocols in the medical device industry using advanced scientific knowledge
- Engineers are developing professionals, acquiring the skills and experience necessary to become fully proficient in the field of product or process development About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring - Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required, plus 3 - 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in the field. *A note on degree requirements for this title: the term "engineering discipline" refers primarily to a degree in Mechanical, Software or Electrical Engineering, with additional consideration given to candidates who have degrees in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Biology or Chemistry if they have attended recognized engineering schools or otherwise demonstrate sufficient knowledge of engineering skills
- Successful completion of at least one industry approved certification level (examples include A+, Network +, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CNA, and CNE)
- Successful completion of Canon Silver level ATSP Certification
