Compensation includes a base salary of $58,400.00 - $87,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

As we transform from a storied daily newspaper into a modern media company, we seek a dynamic Technical Support Specialist for Content Platforms to join our innovative team.

Role Overview

As the Technical Support Specialist for Content Platforms, you will play a vital role in supporting and optimizing our digital content production and delivery tools. This includes our content management system (CMS), ePaper, and news app. You will partner with Technical Product Managers and cross-functional teams to enhance user experience, drive content innovation, and ensure data integrity and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert for our content management system, providing insights and guidance to staff on best practices.

Training & Support: Develop and conduct training sessions for newsroom staff, ensuring they are proficient in using digital tools effectively.

Collaboration: Work closely with journalists and editors to identify and leverage storytelling opportunities across all AJC platforms.

Strategic Implementation: Support the rapid execution of strategic priorities by addressing stakeholder requests and facilitating communication between teams.

Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive reference materials and documentation for our publishing tools to aid user understanding and efficiency.

Issue Resolution: Monitor platform health and stability, acting as the primary contact for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ experience in a related field.​

2+ years in digital media with a focus on digital publishing (web, app, social, video, audio).

​Experience in an agile development environment.

1+ year working in a newsroom setting.

Familiarity with content management systems, especially Arc.

Proficiency with analytics tools, particularly Google Analytics 360/GA4.

Outstanding communication skills; strong analytical abilities with a detail-oriented mindset; proven interpersonal effectiveness; versatile problem solver capable of balancing strategic thinking with immediate tactical responses.

Experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst is a plus.
