Job Description SummaryThe Customer Application Engineer (CAE) will cover Tendering Engineer role. He is the primary technical interface with Customers, during the pre-ITO (pre-Inquiry-To-Order) phase (i.e. prior to a firm proposal). This person is responsible at the individual opportunity level for defining the best technical configuration, associated costing and strategy for firm proposals. Further, the CAE is expected to assure the solution remains aligned to Customer expectations.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Technical Analysis of customer needs/RFQ to define and offer Products/Solutions for GIS & AIS Substations: Ability to prepare proposal preliminary design/drawing for integrated network utilizing different equipment. Knowledge in GIS substations & GIS extensions.Ensure Complaint offer to the technical specifications in accordance with tender requirementIdentify & Flag Key Risks and ensure the mitigation plan in Risk & Opportunity registerManaging & Implementation of the Return of Experience (ROE)Ensure proposals are in accordance with commercial and execution strategies, meeting Yearly Order Intake TargetsEnsure technical Derogation and approvals intact, if applicable for finalizing the technical solutionEnsure completion of site assessments (site visit/review) for Brownfield/Existing Substations & siteMaintaining the Typical circuits /schemes /solution in Tendering Tool to facilitate future offeringsEnsure the respect of technical and commercial offers time schedule to serve sales force in due time maintaining improvised quality level of bidsReview and respond to Technical Clarifications of bid and presenting the solution to the customerSupport order booking as per signed contract/PO, ensure budget margins & drive an improved Operations turnover processSupport the Sales team in commercial and technical meetings/negotiations with customersUpdate the offer management systems, IT platform (SPEAK)Bidding Process Compliance:
Ensure the complete bid management phases (inclusive of proper risk assessments) to ensure compliance to Company's policy & Instructions (From the receipt of enquiry from the customer till the order)Ensure conducting different tender reviews internally with all stakeholders for having proper validations as per in context to the targeted tender due datesConduct Transfer Meeting and hand over relevant documents to operations teamCosting and Pricing Analysis:
Review and maintain tendering hit rate (Submission %age and win rate with quality bids)Responsible for review and analysis of cost and price preparation & calculationsResponsible for having formal quotes of third-party products/systems and updating in Tendering tool in line with sourcingResponsible for ensuring correct costing inEstimation tool in accordance with latest updatesCost optimization & risk analysis: Challenge product/solution costs and delivery costs in tendersCommercial/ Technical win loss Analysis of BidsPerformance indicator:
Delivery of offers on timeAutonomy in data collection, costing & offer approvalEnsure workload target in terms of offer submissions & prioritiesSkills & Experience :
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree with a professional experience of 5 yearsRelevant experience in quotes, technical-commercial offer and SAP system knowlegement it will be considered a plusStrong technical and intellectual adaptability in order to know the products and assimilate the costing processes as quickly as possibleKnowledge of the business sectorComputer skillsFluency in Italian & EnglishAnalytical and synthetic mindsetSense of service, deadlines and results with high autonomy levelActive Listening skillsGood interpersonal and communication skillsPerseverance and resilienceAdditional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: No
