Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles. Our Rail Components business in Alpharetta, GA focuses on the Traction Drives, Motors, and Gearboxes that make up part of our trains. We’re experiencing growth in our workforce and are looking for a Technical Trainer to establish training plans for our manufacturing population.

Position Overview:

As a Technical Trainer, you have a passion for teaching and the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and engagingly. You will be responsible for designing and delivering training programs to enhance the technical skills of new production employees in the essential skills necessary for rail components – OSHA, Safety, and Technical Knowledge (technical drawings, sub-components, bearings, capacitors, etc.). You will also develop the systems for tracking and delivering the training content.

What your day-to-day will look like:Training Development – Develop course content, exercises, and assessments based on the needs of the organization and ensure that training programs are up to date with current technology, trends, and industry standards.Training Delivery - Conduct training sessions and workshops in person or virtually. Provide hands-on demonstrations, provide technical support and adapt teaching styles to cater to different learning preferences and technical skill levelsAssessment and Evaluation – Assess the effectiveness of the training programs through evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics. Continuously review and improve programs as new technologies and trends emerge.Collaboration – Work with colleagues (Engineering, Quality, EHS) to ensure the training materials are aligned with business needs and technical goals. Provide 1:1 coaching or mentoring for employees who require additional assistanceDocumentation – Maintain clear records of training sessions, attendance, and progress. Create detailed user guides, tutorials, and other instructional resourcesTo thrive in this role, you have:Technical Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering fieldProven experience as a Technical Trainer, Educator, or similar role (preferably 2-3 years)Strong Communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to (sometimes) non-technical audiences.Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving skills to help learners overcome technical challenges.Exemplary presentation skills to deliver information to large groups and facilitate discussionsAbility to adjust training materials to accommodate different learning styles and knowledge levels

This job is based in Alpharetta, GA. We offer a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
