POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of Technical Trainer is responsible for providing technical training to customers, agents, affiliates and internal technical staff on the correct operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and all technical aspects of a wide range of automated machinery. This position will provide effective training classes, workshops, syllabus development, and trainee testing. The Technical Trainer must be willing to travel extensively, offering training both on-site at customers’ facilities and at Marlen headquarters in Riverside, Missouri. This position may, from time to time be requested to travel outside of the United States.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and facilitate training products and services on various machines and technologies, including basic operation, advanced features, safety procedures, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting techniques or other subject matter, as specified by our customers. Work to ensure our customers can see a step increase in their employee’s ability/productivity from each training class/workshop. Assist in developing and facilitating online classes, hands-on workshops, video seminars and consultative products. Assess trainees' absorption of material, through hands-on exercises, testing, quizzes, and practical reviews. Assist in developing training standards, manuals, workbooks, training collateral and implementing effective and purposeful training methodologies. Regularly provide industry leading training products and services that cater to a wide variety of technically capable trainees. Assist customers with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions during training sessions and provide guidance on resolving technical issues. Keep abreast of training trends, developments, and best practices. Effectively utilize available software tools and other resources, which include but are not limited to: CRM system, Bill of Materials, machine manuals, assembly drawings, part drawings, etc. Follow-up with customers and trainees to ensure a long-term relationship is sustained and developed. Assist in development of promotional materials and execution of marketing plans to ensure revenue growth and continuously improve competitive products and services. Take orders, track bookings, and liaise with customers/trainees to ensure best in class customer relations. Manage schedule to ensure optimal prep-time, customer service and follow-up occur in a methodical way. Drive brand values and philosophy through all training and development activities.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Track record in developing and executing successful training classes and programs. Critical thinking skills with innovative problem-solving skills. Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools. High degree of organizational and time management skills for self and direct reports. Strategic and creative mindset. Meticulous attention to detail. Ability to manage others. Travel up to 75%. Knowledge of automation machines and machine components. Prior experience training for Original Equipment Manufacturer preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear; uses hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. On occasion, may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The incumbent must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
