Role and Responsibilities:
Gather information about new system releases or changes to existing systems by interviewing engineers, observing equipment operation, and searching through other technical documents. Discuss and align documentation requests and requirements with the information provider and fellow writers. Monitor progress, ensure timely communication, and meet deadlines. Create, develop, plan, write, design, and edit service information. Design, write, and maintain system-specific installation documents. Use various text editors (MS-Word, X-Metal) and Content Management Systems (ST4, PTC-Windchill). Write for reuse and use controlled language. Collaborate with illustrators and process the created technical illustrations.
You are/you can/you have:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering. At least 5 years of experience as a technical writer. Preferably experience with ST4. A background in linguistics/communication is a plus. Project management skills. Experience with medical or high-tech equipment. Thorough experience with structured authoring tools (XML editors), topic-based writing, single-source publishing, and Content Management Systems. Good communication skills. Knowledge of controlled language or documentation standards is a plus. Open-minded to new tools, techniques, and processes. Customer-oriented, a team player who can work independently. Able to take ownership and responsibility. Familiar with Lean methodology.
