Technical Writer
LRS Consulting Services is seeking an experienced Technical Writer for an exciting contract opportunity with one of our clients in Kansas City, KS.

In this role, you’ll work directly with the Service Transition Team to ensure IT services are deployed to production in a way that drives adoption, ensures superior support, and maintains governance and controls for IT operations. You’ll contribute to the overall transition strategy, create and maintain documentation, and collaborate across IT and business units to ensure smooth change management.

Responsibilities

Maintain and perform quality reviews for the Support Services knowledge base.

Develop and update communications, training materials, and knowledge articles for End User Services.

Create documentation to support training requests and promote new IT products and service offerings.

Collaborate with the Service Transition Manager to prepare new services and applications for deployment.

Assist with content development and provide knowledge resources for business units, IT staff, and end users.

Identify opportunities for process improvements within transition functions and report findings to the Service Transition Manager.

Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to ensure successful service transitions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Project Management, or related field preferred.

1–3 years of experience in process development, technical testing/deployment, project participation, or service/help desk.

Familiarity with quality testing best practices, defect management, and root cause analysis.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Professional certifications (e.g., ITIL, Project Management, KCS) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to clearly explain new processes and tools to individuals or groups.

Understanding of IT and change management operating models.

Proficient in MS Office.

Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and reporting skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Positive, energetic, and patient mentoring style.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
