Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Technical Writer

Position Overview:

The Technical Writer administers the documentation system via reviews, updates, and creating procedures to support production departments in producing a quality product. The Technical Writer will interact with all plant personnel especially production employees to verify that materials are developed and updated followed by deploying related training. This critical role will report directly to the Quality Business Unit Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive continuous improvement through creating, maintaining, revising, communicating, and training on quality systems documentation, quality standards, requirements, and best practices.Oversee the Quality Systems documentation.Review and edit procedures for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.Participate in site internal audits.Trend, measure, and record data to complete various metrics.Other duties as assigned.

MUST HAVE:

High School Diploma or GED with Bachelor’s degree preferred.Minimum of 5 years technical writing background (combination of education and experience acceptable).Technical writing samples required.Familiar with procedures, work instructions & formatting of documents.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Able to work efficiently in a team environment.Able to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.Previous Quality or Safety experience preferred.Experience in an automotive quality assurance environment preferred.Experience in automotive coatings formulation and/or application preferred.
