OBM is seeking a consultant to assist with the design and development of overall architecture, navigability, usability, and functionality for online help created in Adobe RoboHelp for OAKS FIN processes and procedures.   The selected consultant may possibly working at two locations:   The Rhodes Tower and Ohio Shared Services  
Scope:   Creates and integrates graphics, text, and interactive multi-media in online help. Identifies subject matter experts, customers, key managers and observes and/or interviews them to develop information for use in online help. 
Designs, develops, tests, implements and maintains electronic performance support systems, (e.g., wizards; online help systems; online documentation; simulations; etc.) using advanced software tools and/or application systems (e.g., Adobe Captivate and Adobe RoboHelp, etc.). Knowledge of technical writing; performance analysis; instructional design principles; written communication for training and online reading; agency standards, policies and procedures*; effective communication techniques; adult learning principles. Ability to gather, collate and classify information about data, people or things; work alone on most tasks; work on a team on some tasks with people of varying skill and educational levels; interact with variety of employees at different educational levels; handle routine and sensitive contact with departmental employees, supervisors and managers; deal with some abstract but mostly concrete variables.

Technical Skills Required:• Adobe RoboHelp 10 or 11

The Technical Writer develops and maintains user and technical documentation and project process documentation for Application Teams. Technical Writer understands the user’s view of applications and /or technology and is able to put procedures in a logical sequence. The experienced Technical Writer provides expertise on technical concepts of applications and /or user groups and structuring procedures in a logical sequence, due to a broad understanding of the applications within their Tower.
TW3Years of Relevant Experience:5 to 6 yearsPreferred Education:4 year college degree or equivalent technical studyRole Description:All roles specified in TW2 plus the following:•Review and approve procedures for use of on-line documentation tools as appropriate.•Identify business and technical documentation needs not currently addressed.•Manage Technical Writer. •Own documentation libraries and subscription lists.•Promote the need for developing and using standard documentation for all processes within the organization.•Perform detailed reviews of interim and final tasks as appropriate.•Oversee processing of service requests.•Manage, deploy, and schedule Technical Writer activities.•Develop and manage short and long-term documentation plans and schedules.•Understand work requests/needs within Application Teams•Manage the accomplishment of delivery metrics in support of contractual obligations in the areas of service delivery, on time performance.•Work with Team Leads and Group Leads to set documentation goals.
