Job Description

  

As the global leader in infrared imaging products, FLIR is always looking for new people to join our team. We are now looking for a driven, dynamic, and team-spirited Technical Writer.  You will work collaboratively with developers, quality and test engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our products easier to use. You will be working in a global and dynamic environment with colleagues abroad. As Technical Writer you will take on the overall responsibility for the production of the user documentation for the thermal and visual security camera and video management software products developed and produced by FLIR.

Key ResponsibilitiesCraft clear, engaging, and user-friendly software documentation, from installation guides and configuration manuals to user instructions, online help, release notes, and training materials that empower users.Create visually impactful content by producing compelling screenshots, flowcharts, and graphics that simplify complex processes and enhance user understanding.Champion the clarity, consistency, and quality of all documentation, ensuring every piece aligns with a cohesive and polished technical voice.Drive the release and publication of technical content that connects with users, making vital information accessible and actionable.

Hard SkillsExperience with technical authoring tools (Adobe FrameMaker, AdobeRoboHelp, Adobe Captivate, Arbortext Editor, Help+Manual).Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to create clear, concise, and accurate technical materials for complex subjects.Collaborate with subject matter experts and various stakeholders in the product development process.Several years of experience writing structured content in CMS.Excellent writing skills in the English language.A background in IT or knowledge on TCP/IP networks and security cameras system architectures is a plus.
