A utilities client in downtown Houston is looking for a Technical Writer to join their team. This position will be responsible for the review, editing and creation of all electric technology operational standards. The Technical Writer will ensure there is consistency and standardization with formatting and language across all functional groups. They will partner with internal teams to understand the requirements of the change request and associated reference documents to create thorough and concise manuals, processes, and forms. This team does process mapping and this individual will work with a team of people that meet with the business, go over their processes, map it out, look for gaps / areas of improvement and come up with entire new processes. There is also a new group on the electric side that this individual will support, new processes around storm restoration. Example of a process they would write: process for how the company will install poles, how they will QA it, how they will measure the metrics, etc. The work they put together in SAP, will go into that process of standard work procedure across the company.
