Technical Writer AI/ML

Cognizant is looking for a Technical Writer AI/ML, practitioner of User Centered Design, who understands and implement Design thinking. Cognizant needs a motivated individual to challenge the status quo and provide thought leadership/best practices to enhance our current services and technologies.

Roles/Responsibilities

● Plan, create, manage, and deliver content that helps users understand or use technology as an integral part of engineering or user experience.

● Design and establish style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations

● Develop, mobilize, and execute knowledge management strategy

● Create, compile, and organize technical documents for internal and external use

● Review, revise, modify, or edit documents prepared by others

● Support quality improvement and increased adoption of information, following inputs fromcross-functional PoCs

● Support the development and implementation of, and strictly adhere to, document control procedures

● Identify and remediate gaps, redundancies, or conflicts across documentation

● Create technical architecture diagrams (understanding current product language and branding)

● Create end-to-end whitepaper and blog copywriting

Research, establish, and enforce guidance for compliance with legal and branding requirements

Technical Writing expertise to support Google’s Engineering Education programs:

(A) Map existing Responsible AI workflows by consulting with identified PoCs.

(B) Use knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence systems to develop documentation and educational materials that guide Google’s product teams on how to accomplish different AI/ML projects at Google.

(C) Produce clear, succinct, and well-organized educational materials that meet the needs of a technical audience.

(D) Develop an understanding of the project constraints, scoping work, communicating content creation plans, and securing buy-in from stakeholders.

(E) Determine the right level of detail for complex technical information and write technical documentation; collaborate with subject matter experts on iterations of content drafts.

(F) Manage community-driven docs and drive active contributions.

(G) Review, revise, modify, or edit documents prepared by researchers, engineers, and policy experts.

(H) Work with cross-functional stakeholders to improve quality and increase adoption of published information.

(I) Use knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence systems to develop documentation and educational materials that guide Google’s product teams on how to accomplish different AI/ML projects at Google.

(J) Research, establish, and enforce guidance in alignment with company strategy and tooling roadmap.

(K) Develop, mobilize, and execute a knowledge management strategy for a growing/changing complex domain space.

Technical Writing projects will require daily and weekly tasks, including:

● Developing new or iterating on existing documentation on a weekly basis.

● Participate in weekly update meetings and ad hoc meetings with subject matter experts to gather all relevant information needed to deliver work.

● Processing data to measure reach, quality, and impact of documentation on a monthly basis.

● Delivering timely status reports on key operation indicators on a monthly basis.

● Providing weekly updates on assigned work.

● Developing marketing materials to promote use of documentation at launch time for each piece of documentation.

● Establishing style guidelines and standards for a given project.

● Guiding the integration of adjacent projects’ timelines, goals, and objectives on a weekly basis.

Salary and Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until 8/15/2024.

The annual salary for this position is between $47,975 – $133,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
