About the Position: The referral list(s) generated by this announcement may be used to fill future vacancies in other organizations throughout the ILSC in Warren, MI. Responsibilities Develops requirements and scopes for equipment technical publications efforts. Establishes plans and schedules for achieving objectives of the publications program. Directs and controls the publication verification and validation program both at the contractor facilities and in the field. Coordinates with the Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM), the Logistics Data Analysis Center (LDAC), and the Equipment Publications Control Office (EPCO) to ensure publications are in accordance with all military specifications. Administers publications start of work meetings, in-process reviews, and Integrated Project Teams. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Planning activities during the life cycle of the publication process (such as contractor scope of work preparation, cost estimation, program planning or establishment of program milestones, contractor performance evaluation or publication editing or quality control); AND (2) Translating complex vehicle or weapon system operation or maintenance information into easily readable, end-user instructional manuals. This definition of Specialized Experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Reasoning Vehicle Maintenance Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Logistics Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Position is designated non-critical sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.2-R. This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis which may take up to 90 days or longer to process. The selectee may be allowed to start work prior to adjudication if management approved. Obtaining and maintaining a secret security clearance is a condition of employment. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly. Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet the position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics within 36 months of entrance on duty. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE)1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may NOT be made permanent.
