PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES 

 

SAP Product Lifecycle Management (SAP PLM) is a cloud solution that enables you to digitally orchestrate your product development from design to operate, resulting in reduced time to market, higher R&D return on investment, higher margins, and reliable product launches.

 

As a technical writer / user assistance (UA) developer, you will be researching, planning, and creating user assistance (UA) deliverables (both text and multimedia) in close collaboration with the development teams, UX designers, and other stakeholders to enable users to deploy, administer, and use SAP PLM. You will be responsible for creating and updating various types of content, including texts within the software, on-screen help, documentation published on SAP Help Portal, and release highlight videos.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO / EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
 

Fulfill roles as both a dedicated member of the PLM UA team and an integrated member of a scrum team that uses agile development processes Work closely with scrum team members to provide design feedback, user interface text, and documentation in bi-weekly development sprints Document new features and maintain the current documentation set Provide compelling, modern, persona-centric UA deliverables for our customers, users, and prospects. Experienced, senior writers will help you learn With minimal supervision, plan and track your own work assignments and deliver them on schedule with high quality Represent the documentation team in development meetings Explore new tools and process improvements in content creation, as well as in productivity enhancements

 

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

A good to excellent university degree in technical communication, IT, business studies or a related subject or, alternatively, a language-based university degree Excellent written and spoken skills in English ((ideally first-language proficiency), German is an advantage Outstanding communication, writing, and grammar skills Ability to work to deadlines, deliver on time, and ensure high quality The ability to express complex technical information in a clear and precise manner The ability to work to tight deadlines, deliver on time, and ensure high quality Independent, self-managed, strong team player in an agile environment Willingness to acquire comprehensive product knowledge and learn new skills at short notice Knowledge of authoring in XML environments is a plus
 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE
2-3 years of experience in technical writing
