Technical Writer II

We are currently seeking a Technical Writer II to provide support for our customer in Crane, IN. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following duties, as well as, possess the following education and experience. 

Duties:

The candidate shall provide technical Writing support for the full MTS family of systems. The contractor shall generate changes and creation of technical data packages.  The technical data packages will include Technical Repair Standards (TRSs) and Programming Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Checkout Procedures. The candidate shall additionally provide technical documentation modification, validation, and verification in support of the MTS family of systems. Candidate shall assist in the development and review of technical documents such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), Acceptance Test Procures (ATP), Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWR), etc. All validation and verification results shall be properly documented in accordance with the applicable test data sheet(s), per standard operating procedures and work instructions. Development of writing Depot Maintenance Work Instructions (DMWR) for the systems and electronics units.  This effort will require a technical writer to draft the documents, a photographer to document the steps and process, and the use of MS Word to create the technical manual.  The candidate shall support in the completion of the Illustrated Parts Breakout (IPB) by manipulating the STP files to pull out the correct parts, identification of which part goes where on each system and organization of the parts lists.  Files will then be converted from STP into PDF format.

Desired Education:

Bachelor's level degree in any field.

Desired Experience:

3+ years work related experience in technical writing/editing. Experience writing technical documents to include standard operating procedures, test plans, maintenance manuals, and other instructional and guidance documentation. Experience reviewing, and validating maintenance procedures preferred.  The Contractor must be proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Framemaker, Adobe Acrobat, Depot Maintenance Working Requirements (DMWR’s), Photography of work and incorporating into DMWR’s.  CAD experience PTC Creo or SolidWorks/Solid Edge.  Adobe Illustrator knowledge would be beneficial.  Ability to extract parts, drawings, etc. within CAD tools for identification, organization and conversion to PDF format. Technical background is preferred.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $44,054.40 to $110,542.90 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems’ total compensation package.
