Compensation includes a base salary of $65,500.00 - $98,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Enterprises and the Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC) is looking for a Technical Writer II to join the team.

As the Technical Writer, you will join the AJC product team, working closely with product managers, software developers, UI/UX designers, platform engineers and end users.  You will create clear, user-friendly documentation for our internal tools, content delivery platforms, and user interfaces, ensuring both technical teams and end users can effectively utilize our technology stack.  Additional responsibilities include support for architectural review discussions and process workflows.

Responsibilities:

Create documentation after a thorough collaboration with subject matter experts and technical leadsDisseminate technical information in easy-to-understand language for non-technical audienceCreate and maintain technical documentation for our delivery platforms and internal toolsDocument APIs, SDKs, and integration procedures for our content management systemsWork closely with development teams using Agile methodologiesUse version control systems (like Git) to maintain documentationCreate user guides and technical specifications for new features and platform updatesDocument UI/UX workflows and design system componentsDevelop and maintain a consistent documentation style guide across technical platformsCollaborate with QA teams to ensure documentation accuracy and completenessDocument system and process workflowsExcellent technical writing skillsExcellent verbal communication skills

Minimum Qualifications ·

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ experience in a related fieldProficiency with Zendesk, Microsoft Suite and documentation toolsExperience with markdown and docs-as-code approachesUnderstanding of software development lifecycles and UI/UX documentationAbility to read and understand basic code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for documentation purposesStrong technical comprehension skills to translate complex systems into clear documentation
