Technical Writer - Internship

Job Summary:
As a Technical Writer-Intern, you will write Python-based API documentation. During this project, you will learn our core help authoring tools and work on help maintenance updates. In addition to having a solid foundation in writing and editing, coupled with a keen interest in technology, you will have completed substantial coursework in STEM-related fields.

What You Will Do:

Work primarily on a single project but may be asked to complete other smaller projects or documentation maintenance tasks
as well. Complete scheduled tasks and projects according to agreed-upon deadlines. Regularly update tasks in JIRA and consistently participate in team status/standup meetings. Follow established procedures and guidelines in Confluence. Review documentation for quality and adherence to standard guidelines and identify areas for improvement. Build proficiency with one or more Altair products. Actively attend and participate in professional development activities organized by HR as part of the intern program. Communicate and collaborate regularly and effectively with your manager and team members. Foster relationships with team members, program managers, QA, and other product stakeholders.

What You Will Need:

Basics:

Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a 
technical field. A portfolio of class projects demonstrating proficiency in technical writing, technical editing, and copy editing. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Organized, reliable, and accountable for the quality and timeliness of your work. Follow established procedures and 
guidelines.

Preferred:

Coding experience, preferably in Python.
