Technical Writer - Robotic Systems Development

This position will be part of the Robotic Systems Development (RSD) team within the Central Technology Office (CTO). CTO plays a key role in our organizational structure by bringing together technical expertise and innovation across the KION Group and its Operating Units. Our diverse teams go beyond technology development, providing comprehensive solutions, services, and lifecycle support. This position is located in Holland, MI. This is a hybrid position requiring three days in-office and two days optional to work from home.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $70,125 - $102,850 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Responsible to produce, provide and maintain technical documentation for non-technical operators ,service and (limited) commissioning audiences

The outputs are product-based content & manuals for non-technical, as well as service audiences

Autonomous acquisition, processing and writing of product-based information

Authoring and provision in US-English via a standardized content management system (DITA/XML industry standards- training will be provided) 

Validation of selected content for team internal peer reviews

Collection of client, expert and user feedback for quality assurance and improvements of content

Ensuring transparency on execution status and provision of content

Support as the NA- key user of CCMS tooling

Collaboration: The primary working language for this role is English.

Collaboration with Europe/America-based experts, as well as peers, training teams, internal clients and other stakeholders globally

Standardization of efforts including content, as well as (limited) tooling and processes

Translations and/or changes to translations

Creation or review of documentation of other departments

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience as a technical writer in technical industries including automation & automotive

University degree in engineering or technical writing/communications

Bonus: Experience working with/for European/APAC businesses
