Key Responsibilities
This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
1. Vibration Analysis
Conduct vibration measurements on rotating equipment and interpret data to diagnose mechanical issues such as imbalance, misalignment, and bearing wear.Generate detailed diagnostic reports and provide recommendations for equipment maintenance or repair.2. Infrared Thermography
Perform thermographic inspections to detect thermal anomalies in electrical and mechanical systems (e.g., hotspots, thermal leaks).Document findings and report potential risk areas, prioritising corrective actions.3. Ultrasound Monitoring
Use ultrasound techniques to detect leaks in pneumatic and hydraulic systems, as well as bearing and valve issues.Generate reports based on ultrasound trends and recommend preventive actions.4. Visual Inspection and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Conduct detailed visual inspections and NDT assessments to evaluate the structural condition of equipment.Collaborate with reliability teams in risk-based inspections (RBI) and structural monitoring initiatives.5. Data Management and Reporting
Record all condition monitoring data in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Analyse equipment condition trends and generate periodic reports, highlighting intervention needs and improvement opportunities.6. Safety and Regulatory Compliance
Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and company policies during all monitoring activities.Maintain condition monitoring tools and equipment in calibrated and optimal working condition.Actively promote a culture of safety, participating in audits and safety initiatives.QualificationsDiploma in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Desired Certifications:Vibration Analysis (ISO 18436): Category I or II.Infrared Thermography: Level I (ITC or equivalent).Ultrasound: Level I (UE Systems or equivalent).Visual Inspection and Non-Destructive Testing: Level I (preferred).Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.ExperienceMinimum of 3 years in predictive maintenance or a similar role in condition monitoring.Proven experience in fixed plant maintenance within an industrial or mining environment.Behavioural TraitsBolder: Demonstrates versatility and is prepared to tackle challenges.Smarter: Continuously seeks efficiencies and improved ways of working.Driven: Sets high standards and remains motivated to deliver results.Together: Works collaboratively with peers, communicating effectively and valuing others' perspectives.Operational RequirementsFluency in English.Strong familiarity with condition monitoring techniques, including vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, and oil analysis.Knowledge of CMMS and data analysis software.Excellent communication skills with a strong commitment to safety.Willingness to work extended hours (standby and overtime) when required.Ability to work in industrial conditions with exposure to noise, heat, dust, and varying environments.Visit our website and register for instant job alerts at careers.first-quantum.com
