What You’ll Do:

Tests, services, and repairs tractors, trailers and related mechanical components.

Diagnose and repair transmission, engine, electrical, suspension, driveline, HVAC, brakes and air systems on tractors and trailers. May require assistance from Tech III.Perform light trailer body repairs including doors, tires, lighting system etc.Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers.Repair/replace bolts on body parts such as hoods and cab extenders.Drive trucks and pull trailers using a yard jockey in and out of the shop before and after repairs.Perform DOT inspections as outlined in USX guidelines; accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion.Perform open seat inspections to prepare tractor for next driver.Perform 90-day lease operator inspections.Clean and maintain work area on a daily basis.Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most SRT times.Check vehicle fluids; transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc.Perform vehicle preventative maintenance (PM’s) as outlined in USX PM guidelines.Change vehicle tires.Grease mechanical partsPerform other duties as assigned.
