About the role:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician is responsible for analyses and verification required in Barry Callebaut QMS System, as well as ensuring all production process control. Demonstrate ownership of plant and food safety, including regulatory requirements.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Conduct analytical testing of products and samples during the process; perform QA/QC tests; and serve as a backup in the EMP program. Manage document control, assist in establishing Standard Operating Procedures relevant to the factory, and prepare and maintain required documentation of test results. Oversee the Lab Calibration Program and training of standards by maintaining a clean lab, calibrating laboratory equipment, and managing operating and training manuals. Conduct quality audits, evaluate test data and deviations, and verify Certificates of Analysis (COA). Process all non-conforming products in accordance with company-established quality standards (FSIR, CAR). Monitor inventory levels and order materials and supplies for the QA lab. Assist with new employee orientation and training. Oversee daily sensory analysis evaluations and train new personnel. Prepare daily samples for microbiological testing and retain finished goods samples. Release raw materials and finished goods in SAP. Follow up on blocked stock and assign final destinations. Participate in internal and external audits. Conduct traceability exercises for finished goods and/or raw materials.

 

About you:

BS in Food Science or a related discipline, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in QA/QC. Specialized knowledge and expertise in GMPs, HACCP, Quality Systems, Standard Operating Procedures, test methods, and taste testing. Availability to work on weekends and evening shifts as needed. Willingness to perform sensory testing on chocolate and raw ingredients.

 

Additional Requirements:

Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP (QM module). Excellent communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong leadership and coaching abilities. Knowledge of chocolate processing is a plus.
