Support building a customer focused quality culture through data collection, process monitoring, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. You will foster a safety culture and the implementation of safety policies and training in compliance with the company safety program and OSHA regulations to eliminate work related injuries. •Perform audits of the quality management system; perform process and product auditsLead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions + Maintain line quality metrics and dashboard and participate in quality reviews + Monitor and review CTQ / SPC / Error Proofing Controls at every level + Collect, analyze, and report data and participate in improvement projects + Assist with training the plant associates in the QMS and TQM principles + Review and report supplier quality issues; review/manage/escalate supplier RCA/corrective actions. + Participate in plant trials, write reports and generate improvement ideas + Support the overall continual improvement of quality effort for the site to drive increasing quality performance with the customer Participate and support SSB corporate quality initiatives **Functional/Technical Competencies** **Functional Skills** + Process Control (SPC, Error Proofing, Monitoring, Process Improvement) + Knowledge of basic measuring tools (Caliper, tape measurer, carpenter’s square) + Root cause analysis (5 Why analysis, cause and effect diagrams) + Auditing (execution, reporting, corrective action) + Organized and Logical/Process Thinking + Strong communicator (written, verbal, presentation) + Results oriented/Sense of Urgency **Competencies** + Customer Focused + Process oriented + Adapt to change, foster and drive continuous improvement + Team player **Experience/Education** **Required** + HS diploma or GED + One to three years in manufacturing + Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) + Must be able to read, write, and speak English + Must be at least 18 years or older **Preferred** + Associates degree in Manufacturing, Quality, Statistics, Engineering, Business or other + One year in a Quality role + Lean training / certification + Have or be prepared to work towards Certified Six Sigma Green Belt **Job Factors/Work Environments** •85% Walking/standing in manufacturing plant and warehouse distribution environment 15% sedentary **Key Relationships** Plant Quality Engineer, Production Manager, Production Supervisors, Maintenance Techs, KPO (Lean), Production Scheduler, HR **Competencies** **Come Dream with Us!** When you join Serta Simmons Bedding, you become part of our 150-year legacy of sleep solutions with endless opportunities to impact our future for centuries to come.
