BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide physical and technical support, including, but not limited to scheduling, inventory of supplies, integration and maintenance of all skills and simulation equipment and computers, mannequins, audio/video technology as well as all surrounding supportive and assistive technology and/or equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical support to faculty for lab all operations, including preparation, maintenance and repair of computerized mannequins (software and hardware), task trainers, multimedia equipment and medical equipment used in the simulation lab.
Ensure all scheduled lab activities are set up with required technology, equipment, and supplies.
Collaborate with the Simulation Coordinator to ensure the preparation of lab supplies and equipment, based on faculty requests and the course schedule.
Install, operate, upgrade, troubleshoot, and ensure function of (i.e., maintain) all simulation equipment and computers, mannequins, audio/video technology as well as all surrounding supportive and assistive technology and/or equipment.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and/or repair simulation equipment or related simulation technology or equipment.
Provide technical support to faculty and students in the use of audio/visual equipment, patient monitors, mannequins, IV pumps and other equipment before, during, and following simulation labs.
Prepare audio/visual hardware and software systems to record simulation training sessions and labs.
Update and maintain audio/visual hardware and software systems on routine basis.
Repair simulation equipment per manufacturer specifications or determine need for outside repair. Work with manufacturer or vendor as needed to correct issues.
Order supplies and maintain stock and inventory for the lab, including laundry and sharps/biohazard management.
Attend technical training as necessary and attend workshops (either in person or online) to remain current with simulation technology.
Provide occasional training as to the use of simulation-based equipment.
Supervise undergraduate student workers in the operation and maintenance of lab activities.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as assigned.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Dell and Mac computers, printers, word processing software, database management, AV equipment and spreadsheet software. Lab equipment.
Required Qualifications REQUIRED:
1. Associate’s degree in technology or health related field.
2. Demonstrated experience working with simulation and medical equipment.
3. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
5. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
6. Demonstrated proficiency with written communication skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to update and maintain audio/visual hardware and software systems on routine basis.
8. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
9. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Minimum one year experience working with medical simulation, technologies and applications, computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to medical simulations.
3. Demonstrated experience with PC and MAC computer products.
4. Demonstrated experience with medical terminology.
5. Demonstrated experience with audio visual equipment.
