Division Specific Information

Working as part of our Microbiology Division (MBD), within the Specialty Diagnostics Group, you’ll play an active part in helping us to achieve our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. The Microbiology Division discovers microbiological solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination. We serve public health, clinical laboratories, food companies, environmental screening and pharmaceutical laboratories with a portfolio of products that include culture media, antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions and market-leading molecular solutions for food safety testing.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be working within a manufacturing lab, preparing reagents, intermediates and carrying out testing using standard operating procedures and production documentation ensuring they meet performance specifications and good manufacturing practice standards. Attention to detail and accuracy are key in this role. Full training will be given for all processes carried out by our skilled and dedicated team. Responsibilities:

· Be responsible for the manufacture and testing of intermediates and final reagents.

· Handling of microorganisms for use in testing

· Operation of semi automated equipment for use in production.

· Asist in the packing of intermediates.

· Management of stock levels for responsible product ranges.

· Be responsible for the quality of manufactured reagents, completed documentation and ensure quality standards are maintained.

· Comply with all SAP transactions on work performed and be responsible for controlling inventory.

· Raise any health and safety or quality issue to your Senior Technician.

· Participate in PPI (continuous improvement) programs as required.

· Any other duties/projects as are reasonable and within the skills and ability of the post holder.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

· Previous experience in a manufacturing/lab environment is preferable.

· To have a keen eye for detail and quality

· To be able to work at pace whilst maintaining safe working practices and product quality.

· Honest and open verbal and written communication
