Summary You will serve as a Technician in Building 1246 Submarine Launcher Facility Complex of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-11 and GS-12. Responsibilities You will operate in a technical capacity in the areas of Launchers and Payload Integration along with their associated laboratory facilities. You will provide technical mechanical support in NUWCDIVNPT, Building 1246 Submarine Launcher Facility Complex. You will provide the laboratory manager, Code 45-line management, and test engineers with operational, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair efforts across the Laboratory Complex facilities. You will provide mechanical support in various systems and facility areas including payload Integration, torpedo tubes, ejection pumps, launchers, or in Weapon/Payload shipping. You will provide mechanical support in various systems and facility areas including stowage and handling systems, and associated components, either shipboard or in land-based facilities. You will act as a crane operator, potentially acting as the lead overseeing the operation, training, and certification of other operators associated with the launcher system facilities. You will support the Division Newport and Naval Facilities (NAVFAC) crane safety personnel in execution of training, audits, and mishap investigations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-3 pay band (GS-09/10 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical principles in the operational, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, or repair efforts of launchers and payload integration.
