Summary You will serve as a Technician in the Waterfront Engineering and Operations Branch of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. You will be assigned as a Waterfront Engineering and Operations representative with a duty station of Norfolk Virginia or Everett, Washington. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. Responsibilities You will provide technical expertise to Aegis/Aegis BMD Weapons System Computer Program Installations and provide Technical Direction and problem solving for Fleet issues. You will serve as Onsite Installation Coordinator (OSIC), supervising and leading teams installing AEGIS, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Weapon Systems Computer Programs at various locations around the globe. You will be required to support underway operations onboard Aegis/Aegis BMD capable units for Fleet Testing. You will provide senior technical assistance on-site, underway, and distance support by performing checkout and troubleshooting of installed weapon system computer programs and equipment interfaces. You will provide NSWCDD oversite assistance on waterfront or shipboard change control boards in support of flight missions or engineering events. You will provide senior-level expertise to division personnel for a variety of technical duties concerned with the application of engineering principles, operations, and processes relating to AEGIS Ballistic Missile Defense Combat Systems. You will lead junior level technicians in the Fleet Support Group and mentor junior engineers in the employment and application of AEGIS combat systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent), or pay grade in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience providing technical guidance for the integration, testing, and maintenance of defense combat systems for an organization. Education Additional Information SALARY CAP: This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including GS-14 equivalent (high-grade) positions. This is not a high-grade position. Therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $181,956 Everett, WA) or (currently $117.034 Norfolk, VA). This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
