Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will assist with developing repair practices and technical welding procedures relating to the manufacture, repair, modification, rebuilding, and assembling of equipment items. You will assist with developing, testing, and evaluating welding procedures. You will utilize established manual, electric arc/inert gas shielded, gas torch or similar welding processes. You will verify the repair, modification or fabrication of all types of metal and alloy parts, equipment or components worked upon. You will be responsible for conducting internal/external American Welding Society (AWS) certifications as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). You will support a manufacturing organization. You will provide technical direction and inspect the repair work performed by Technicians, Quality Assurance Specialists, and Welders, and provide quality control. You will develop Non-Destructive (NDT) and Destructive (DT) Test reports. You will develop Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) for all assigned programs and assigned work areas. You will analyze and then conduct in-process inspections. You will be required to report to the duty location advertised in the announcement on a regular and reoccurring basis. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR NT-04: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band, NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and applying technical engineering procedures, practices or methods to develop, test, and repair parts, to improve current welding procedures and processes relating to manufacture of equipment. FOR NT-03: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band, NT-02 (GS-05 through GS-08 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical engineering procedures, practices or methods to assist with development, testing, and repair of equipment in support of manufacturing processes. The salary for the position is as follows: NT-03: $61,111 - $87,482 NT-04: $73,939 - $115,213 This position is in the Energetics Manufacturing Department (M), Navy Weapons Division (M5), Industrial Services Branch (M52), of Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head located in McAlester, Oklahoma.
