Job Description

We are hiring a Technician for an opportunity with an automotive manufacturer. You will be a part of a team supporting the building of prototype vehicles. We are looking for a Technician who has experience with automotive wire harness assembly (from drawings) experience, automotive Mechanical experience (Major repairs/rebuilding) and a plus if you have diesel truck experience (advanced maintenance i.e. brakes, chassis, pneumatics).

ResponsibilitiesUpdate vehicles with harnessing and electronic componentsRead blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructionsAssist and perform vehicle build activitiesBuild, modify, fix mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systemsCreate, modify, maintain wiring harnesses and test the connections as requiredCheck and verify operation of the electric and mechanical systems installed in the vehiclesAssist in troubleshooting any issues foundSupport issue resolution in conjunction with the rest of the teamDocument any issues found and the steps taken to resolve themAssemble and install heavy cables on prototype vehiclesVerify, troubleshoot, and repair vehicle electrical and electronic systems, and instrumentationOrganize the shop to provide simplicity in gathering parts and components for increased efficiency of the prototype wiring facilityHelp with the build of prototype vehiclesVerify test truck specifications (hardware/software) and resolve specification compatibility issuesProvide feedback to responsible Design Engineer(s) on assembly status and emerging issuesPerform issue diagnostics utilizing proprietary software toolsDocument and support issue resolution during the vehicle build processEssential Skills2 years of relevant experience requiredDemonstrated skills: detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivatedHV3 Certification (vehicle high voltage safety training) OR ability to obtain within six months of employmentUnderstanding of diagrams and documentation of Low Voltage harnesses along with routing requirementsAbility to assemble and repair harnesses with a full understanding of specialty tools requirementsMechanically inclinedTeam playerAbility to work in a working shop and a fast-paced environment while working on multiple projects at the same timeAdditional Skills & QualificationsAutomotive wire harness assembly (from drawings) experienceAutomotive Mechanical experience (Major repairs/rebuilding)Diesel truck experience (advanced maintenance i.e. brakes, chassis, pneumatics)ASE certificationsHands-on truck experienceTruck/Automotive experience is a plusWork Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
