**Job Title: Technician**
**Job Description**
Technicians will be responsible for pulling fiber and CAT6 cable in a central utility plant. The role requires terminating and splicing cables, print reading knowledge, and the ability to self-perform the work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include building cable trays, racking, and closets, understanding color coding, and learning and retaining new information.
**Responsibilities**
+ Pull fiber and CAT6 cable in a central utility plant.
+ Terminate and splice cables.
+ Read and interpret prints and schematics.
+ Build and install cable trays, racking, and closets.
+ Understand and apply color coding standards.
+ Work independently with minimal supervision.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3-5 years of experience in cable pulling, splicing, and termination with CAT6 and fiber.
+ Knowledge of MDF and IDF racks and patch panels.
+ Experience with Fluke testing and certification parameters.
+ Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and blueprints.
+ Splicing skills.
+ Familiarity with OTDR testing.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ BICSI certification is highly desired but not mandatory.
+ Experience with testing and termination.
+ Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts.

**Work Environment**
The project is located at a large commercial airport with various trades on site. Security protocols must be followed, including rally points and gated areas with bus access to the work area. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times, and badges must be visible.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, Nebraska.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
