If you have a passion for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, we want you on our team! **Job Description:** The **Vehicle Maintenance Technician** is responsible for performing routine and complex maintenance tasks on our fleet of vehicles, ensuring all equipment runs smoothly and remains compliant with safety regulations. This role involves preventative inspections, system repairs, and meticulous record-keeping. You will be an integral part of our maintenance team, ensuring that our fleet is always operational and ready to serve our telecommunications needs. **Key Responsibilities:** + **Perform Preventative Maintenance:** Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on company vehicles, trailers, and motorized equipment to ensure optimal performance. + **Chassis and Ancillary Equipment Repairs:** Diagnose, repair, and maintain chassis, engine components, and ancillary equipment, ensuring everything operates efficiently and safely. + **Drive-Train Diagnostics and Repair:** Troubleshoot and repair issues related to complete drive-train systems, keeping all vehicles and equipment in top working condition. + **AC & DC Electrical Systems Repair:** Diagnose and repair electrical issues in both AC and DC systems to maintain electrical integrity across all vehicles and equipment. + **Hydraulic System Maintenance:** Perform diagnostics and repairs on hydraulic systems to keep all machinery functioning properly. + **Comprehensive Record-Keeping:** Maintain both digital and paper service records for all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance and traceability. + **Other Duties:** Assist with additional tasks as required by the company, contributing to the overall success of the fleet maintenance program. **Required Skills & Qualifications:** + **Computer Proficiency:** Must be proficient in using computers for email, MS Excel, MS Word, and other online tools for research and information gathering. + **Communication Skills:** Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document repairs and interact effectively with team members and management. + **Commercial Driver’s License (CDL):** Must be able to obtain a valid unrestricted California Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), including Air Brake endorsement. The license must be kept current as a condition of employment. + **Manual Transmission Proficiency:** Ability to operate vehicles equipped with standard (manual shift) transmissions when required at job sites. + **Experience:** Minimum of 5 years of experience in vehicle maintenance with a Class A or B CDL. + **Licensing & Certification:** + **CA BAR Emissions Inspector and Emission Repair Technician License:** Must be current at the time of appointment and maintained throughout employment. + **ASE Certification:** Must possess a valid Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Automotive or Master Medium/Heavy Truck certification.
