The Gainesville Filling Department is responsible for filling, caning, and freezing all frozen live virus vaccines produced here. Filling operates 2 ROTA ampoule filling/sealing machines, an automated ampoule caning machine, and 3 programmable cryogenic freezers. This position will assist in all aspects of vaccine filling through operation of equipment and manual labor as required.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Prepares, sets up, and operates filling machines. Includes operation of dry heat ovens and autoclaves.
+ Responsible for operation of Caning machine.
+ Responsible for operation of the centrifuge spinning machine.
+ Responsible for operation of programmed freezers.
+ Packs frozen vaccine for BRT transport.
+ "Pulls" required samples.
+ Completes relevant Filling documents and perform quality and volume checks as required.
+ Orders and receives materials and supplies.
+ Maintains cleanliness of equipment and Filling area(s.)
+ Assists in other areas as needed.
+ Works safely around Liquid Nitrogen.
+ Works in a Lab type environment.
+ Adheres to, ensures, and performs procedures accordingly to SOPs.
+ Demonstrates mechanical or electronic aptitude, cleanroom experience and/or familiar with aseptic filling principles.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Preferred: One (1) year related experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Biology/general science courses helpful.
+ Must be able to lift 50 lbs., as well as push / pull.
+ Must be able to sit or stand on feet for extended periods of time.
+ Must be able to squat, bend, and stoop, as well as twisting and turning.
+ Manual dexterity and visual acuity are important.
+ Must be able to adapt to irregular hours - long and short days. Regular attendance is a must.
+ Mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
+ Mechanical Diagnostics and problem solving is required.
+ Must be a team player.
**Eligibility Requirements** :
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
+ Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.
