JOB PURPOSE:
Lab Tech II is an intermediate level position. Under minimal supervision where operations and sequences are specified by written and verbal instructions and established practices, the Lab Tech II will perform routine and semi-routine production duties associated with the lens manufacturing processes.

Good verbal and written communication and an ability to read English and identify number recognition are also critical skill sets. Analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task production environment essential. May require vision and / or color hue recognition testing. Use of personal protective equipment is required. Must be able to sit, stand, twist and bend for extended periods of time. Must follow safety guidelines with the ability to identify and understand safety items. This includes the ability to keep a clean working environment. Must have a flexible schedule and work overtime when needed. Must have the ability to work in a team setting or independently, as needed. A strong desire to learn is critical, including a positive attitude and approach to work. Manufacturing skill set and experience a plus. May perform other duties as needed.
Full knowledge of at least one department and basic knowledge of the entire lab. This position will have a variety of tasks within the department with minimal supervision. Must have intermediate optical knowledge. Cross training will be required within the lab and may include:
Maintaining appropriate production reports.Understanding of lens coatings.Understanding of optical equipment and troubleshooting.Intermediate level lens inspection.Knowledge of DVI operating system (or compatible).Ability to consult with customers on various issues.Purchasing / receiving of lenses and / or frames.Invoicing and billing.Tinting of lenses.Produce drill mounts.Package sorting and shipping.Organizational skills.Blocking, spot, taping and foco.Rx ordering and data entry.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine and semi-routine production duties associated with various aspects of lens production paying close attention to quality, quantity and efficiency. Refer to the Job Matrix for further departmental specifics. Qualifies and inspect product to ensure compliance with CZV specifications and standards.Comply with all safety regulations as well as maintain a clean and safe work environment.Maintain appropriate written and/or computer documentation.Generally assigned certain tasks within a specified department but has knowledge to perform majority of the tasks within a specified department.May receive cross training in other departments.Additional tasks as needed.SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in meetings to enhance departmental communication and efficiency.May be assigned to different workstations or product lines as production needs require.May train peers.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
