Perform mechanical repairs under moderate supervision including the repair of brakes and brake inspections, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs. Maintain complete and accurate records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used Assist Tech III with preventative maintenance (PM’s), safety maintenance inspections and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals of time and usage Remove and replace engines, transmissions, and differential assemblies with Maintenance Technician III supervision. Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under moderate supervision. Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required Assist with road calls and emergency services Repair and maintain all shop equipment Education & Certifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent Vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred) Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire) State inspection license (if required) ASE Certification preferred. ASE testing program provided with the expectation of completing 3 ASE in first 12 months Requirements: Intermediate mechanical aptitude and 3 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) Adhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards Intermediate problem-solving ability Intermediate computer skills Comfortable using hand tools Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work independently and with a team Maintain an organized and clean work environment Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers Possess adequate mechanic tool inventory to complete all assigned duties and maintained in a clean and safe manner The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
