The Public Works Department Technician II - Facility Maintenance is a full-time position with benefits and a preferred hiring range of $21.69 - $23.86 per hour (equivalent to $45,115 - $49,628 annually); however, an exact salary will be determined in compliance with City Policy Section 3: Compensation. As the Technician II, you'll perform diverse maintenance tasks across city facilities. Responsibilities include rough and finished carpentry, repairing wooden structures and equipment, roof leak repairs, panel and tile installation, and roof maintenance. The role requires electrical work (such as installing and replacing basic wiring, switches, and light sources), masonry projects, HVAC system maintenance, plumbing tasks, and food service equipment installation. This position involves welding, using various hand and power tools, and operating machinery, like street sweepers and dump trucks for snow removal. You should be able to perform preventive automotive maintenance, minor vehicle repairs, and pre-trip inspections. As the ideal candidate, you'll adeptly respond to work orders, maintain accurate documentation, ensure regular and reliable attendance, and operate a City vehicle to complete various assignments, supporting other trades as needed. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Requirements for Technician II Level: + High school diploma or GED and considerable (3-5 years) experience in one or more of the building trades, maintenance, repair, and/or construction work. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be used to meet this requirement. + At least 18 years of age. + Valid driver's license. Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B within six months of hire.
