What you will do:
 

Support and work alongside seasonal staff members by providing training, coaching on safety, answering questions, partnering on the completion of work assignments. Maintaining small plot research equipment, including diagnosing issues and repairing as needed. Follow procedures, prepare seed samples, plant, spray, maintain and harvest research trials, collect data, and operate field equipment as well as a truck and trailer. Assist in conducting field tours. Model our core value of safety by leading and enabling a culture in which you and your team are actively contributing to a safe work environment. Longer working hours during busy season and some travel will be required.

 

What you will bring:
 

High school or equivalent required.  Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture preferred. Related agricultural crop research experience and/or farm background is a plus. Knowledge of crop research methodology an asset. Valid driver’s license required; able and willing to obtain Class 3 driver’s license. Experience operating small plot research equipment such as tractors, seeders, sprayers and combines an asset. Possess a strong attention to detail, safety-focus, and ability to keep organized. Eligibility to obtain membership in the Alberta Institute of Agrologists an asset.
