Job Description
Performs assignments involving computer hardware, software, network and storage functionality, with emphasis on computer/camera compatibility and communication. Follows standard work methods on assignments. Duties and Responsibilities* Shall possess computer hardware skills, such as installing and configuring peripheral devices.* Ability to troubleshoot network problems using utilities such as ipconfig, ping, and tracert. * Ability to use multi-tester and network testing equipment. * Working knowledge of MAC, Windows, and Linux operating systems and their interoperability.* Ability to troubleshoot MAC, Windows, and Linux Operating Systems and software.* Must be able to apply the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model and its relationship to troubleshooting. * Proficient in video compression techniques; VMware virtualization software; and Active Directory or OpenLDAP. * Ability to operate an oscilloscope and pulse generator; write simple scripts and or code; and recover data from storage mediums such as but not limited to SD, CF cards and hard drives. * Management of system administration of MAC and other information systems in accordance with DOD and US Army policies, or applicable IA standards. * Proficient with streaming video software and hardware; high speed and ultra-high speed camera systems including the synchronization of multiple disparate data systems, frame timing, and digital and analog signals; and diagnosing high speed camera systems including setup, triggering, and digital imaging. Understands transmission mediums such as copper and fiber. * Working knowledge of IRIG and NTP time codes. * Ability to plan projects and present technical data in written reports.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications* Must have 5 yr. of applicable experience or at least 60 credit hours or an Associate’s Degree and 3 yrs. applicable experience; or 30 credit hours and 4 yrs. applicable experience; or completion of a formal training program and 3 yrs. applicable experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year applicable experience.* Shall possess basic computer skills.* Requires privileged access to information systems. Shall be trained and certified in accordance with DODI 8570.1-M, AR 25-2, Army Best Business Practice (BBP) 05-PR-M-0002, and IA Training Certification (latest version).* Shall possess or be able to obtain a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) investigationPhysical Qualifications* The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment and sometimes in the field where you are subject to the environment.* Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.* Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time.* Must be capable of lifting 25 lbs. unassisted.* Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.* Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilities.Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements* Must be a U.S. Citizen.* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening periodic retest. * Must be able to successfully complete a background check. * Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
