Performs skilled mechanical and/or analytical duties in the coordination and completion of projects. Work is performed under general guidelines using established procedures and evaluated on results obtained. May supervise subordinate employees.

**Major/Essential Functions:**
+ Ensures support to campus with preserving building flooring, including stain removal, polishing hard surfaces, stripping, and finishing (preferred previous knowledge and application).
+ Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs all Services equipment, e.g. vacuums, auto scrubbers, vehicles, buffers, etc., ensures the equipment is in safe working condition. Installation of dispenser across campus restrooms.
+ Supports inventory efforts by monitoring par levels for each building and coordinating with vendors on delivery services. Stocking inventory in assigned areas. Deliver requested supplies and equipment to buildings.
+ Assists in equipment audits and keeps records of placement throughout campus.
+ Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Knowledge of cleaning agents, equipment and methods of soil removal.
+ Knowledge of and proficiency in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work.
+ Thorough knowledge of the procedures, equipment and supplies used in floor care work.
+ Requires, at minimum, basic knowledge after training of cleaning procedures, operating equipment necessary in maintaining a clean and safe environment.

**About the Department and/or College:**
Operations custodial staff members clean buildings and disinfect restrooms to create and maintain a safe environment for Texas Tech students, faculty, and staff. Operations custodial staff sanitize 785 campus restrooms and locker rooms daily with a high-end disinfectant and fill soap dispensers every evening to promote healthy hand-washing habits. Custodial members are also highly trained to follow proper cleaning procedures to ensure the health of our campus buildings.
