Integration Engineering Technician

Merritt Island, FL

Contract Position

$42.00/Hour

Responsibilities:

Install avionics components and systems with precision, ensuring operational reliability and compliance with design specifications.Lead efforts to transition from development to production, managing qualification timelines and first article assemblies.Perform intricate cable harness installations, ensuring all avionic assemblies meet strict safety and quality standards.Inspect, test, and verify avionics assemblies against technical models, drawings, and specifications.Troubleshoot and resolve avionic system issues through modifications, reworks, repairs, or maintenance.Collaborate with vehicle and launch operations teams for in-field harness installations under dynamic conditions.Conduct thorough inspections, cleaning, measurements, and testing to ensure optimal avionic system functionality.Drive continuous improvement in avionic installation processes, emphasizing safety and efficiency.Maintain adherence to strict Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and safety protocols.Work collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment, balancing multiple priorities and adapting to evolving project needs.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED required; further technical training or certification preferred.Experience: 5-10 years of manufacturing experience in aerospace or a similar industry, focusing on avionics or harness fabrication.Expertise in harsh environment cable harness assembly procedures.Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma).Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.Computer literacy, with working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holder).

Desired Skills:

Experience with avionics manufacturing and related test equipment operation.Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620, MIL-DTL-22520, NASA-STD-8739, J-STD-001, and ANSI/ESD S20.20.Skilled in using measurement tools and applying basic math concepts.Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.Must meet vision standards and be able to work flexible shifts, including overtime as needed.

Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday (6:00am - 2:30pm)
