The Opportunity

This position works out of our St. Paul, Minnesota location in the Structural Heart division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease. 

As the Technician IV, you’ll have the chance to support product development within the transcatheter aortic valve team, helping to support development of new products as well as providing support to cross-functional teams, helping to ensure realization of highest quality product to the customer.

Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of mechanical or electromechanical materials, devices, assemblies, subassemblies, systems. and products.

What You’ll Work On

Performs a variety of duties in the electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, chemical, or optical areas.Builds or assembles prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies.Constructs, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, maintains and tests equipment, systems or products.Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.Performs tests, analyzes data and writes reports.Reviews or develops processing or manufacturing instructions.Maintains detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis.May assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross-functional discussions regarding device performance allegations.Indicate the reporting relationships, products, budgets, throughput, level and purpose of contacts (internal and external), or other scope measures that are key to this position.(Influence/Leadership) May provide work direction to other employees in work group.(Planning/Organization) Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Initiates or maintains schedule for projects and project milestones. Establishes priorities of individual or project assignments.(Decision Making/Impact) Solves complex problems requiring extensive interpretation of procedures and practices to provide leadership in evolving projects. Selects methods and practices to solve problems using ingenuity, creativity, and a high degree of independent action and initiative. Proposes solutions independently; makes decisions on projects. Develops and implements projects from concept to completion.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree (± 13 years) or an equivalent combination of education and work experienceMinimum 6 years related work experience. May also require a license or certification in the area of expertise. (Technical/Business Knowledge (Job Skills)) Applies extensive knowledge of complex technical concepts and practices, and a complete understanding of product or systems fundamentals in a functional area, and working knowledge of other related disciplines. Utilizes/interprets advanced numerical and statistical data and/or computer software programs to present documentation and analysis and resolve production, technical, or systems problems.Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations(Cognitive Skills) Performs extremely complex or specialized technical assignments usually in the nature of projects, requiring working independently. May design, develop, or modify area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product. Assignments require considerable judgment, high degree of initiative, creative approaches in troubleshooting, and making recommendations for continuous quality improvement of work methods for functional area

The base pay for this position is $23.25 – $46.45 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
