Technician (Liaison between Development Department and Production)

As our new Technician, you are the direct link to our internal production. You will directly affect how our equipment interacts with our users’ communications devices.

At our global HQ, located in Ballerup, Denmark, you join our Audio Engineering team in the FalCom division, which is built on GN’s foundation as a global leader in intelligent audio solutions.

We create advanced hearing protection solutions that allow special operations, military, law enforcement and security personnel to communicate in the most extreme environments – all while providing high-quality hearing protection.

You will be part of a small team of international software, hardware, and mechanical engineers. The team is characterized by a communicative, collaborative, fun, and inclusive atmosphere.  

We develop sophisticated software and hardware for low-power communication solutions. We work solo and in teams as needed, and together we navigate in a project-oriented development culture, collaborating with colleagues across GN and especially with our R&D and sales functions.

You report to Senior Manager Audio Engineering, Jens Kirkelund Madsen, who explains: “It’s a very interesting position. You’ll have a lot of influence of the quality of, FalComs customer solutions. It really is a great opportunity for learning”.

 

Responsibilities:

Act as a liaison between the development department and production.System configuration and initial testing of cables, headsets, and control boxes.

Primary Tasks:

Design Phase:Create initial schematics.Create initial cable BOM (Bill of Materials).Review schematics and BOM from other FAEs (Field Application Engineers).Identify and purchase connectors.Initiate the build of samples.Test sample cables.Review cable build versus cable BOM with in-house manufacturing.Send for review and approve the cable SKU in LCL20.

Qualifications:

Relevant technical education.Experience in similar roles.Experience with system configuration and initial testing of cables, headsets, and control boxes.Knowledge of radio technology is valuable, as control units and headsets are part of the work.Knowledge of serial production is beneficial.Experience with documentation systems.Ability to handle tasks alone and as part of a team.Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with different departments.
