Departmental Overview From the high school athlete who tears an ACL to the retiree who needs a knee replacement, Ortho Central is here for each and every one of our patients. Our expert team includes seven orthopedic surgeons, two sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, and workers’ compensation specialists. Ortho Central has three convenient locations in central Oklahoma: Midwest City, Tri City, and 2 offices in Norman. Our skilled providers can evaluate and treat a wide range of orthopedic injuries including sports-related fractures, foot and ankle surgery, and hip, knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery. Job Summary Job Summary Assists with the administration of treatments under specific instruction and supervision of a licensed therapist. Maintains the department and treatment areas in a safe and clean condition. Maintains supplies necessary for daily operation of the clinic/department. Assists patients with routine ambulation under direction of the nursing staff (Porter Acute Care). Provides supervision of community aquatics programs. (PPC) Assists in collecting and maintaining information related to therapy treatment information. Education High school education or equivalent required. Prefer college student with declared major or enrollment in Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupation Therapy, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, or other health related field (i.e., nursing, physical education, etc.) Skills with computer and typing preferred. Experience Prefer hospital experience with direct patient care. Licensure/Certification/Registration/Professional Designation ETC Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
