About Potash

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon.  BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location

This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The work schedule for this role will be seven days on, seven days off.

 

As this role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp, the incumbent must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Jansen site. BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a relocation allowance.

Purpose

This role is responsible for executing planned and unplanned maintenance activities within the hoisting, shafts, and underground mining environment. Your work will contribute to optimal production, equipment performance and availability, as well as improving reliability and ensuring that we are well placed for future growth within the mine.

About the Role

In this role you will:

Execute maintenance activities according to the weekly work schedule, shutdown schedule and unscheduled work as required. Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions Assist in developing and enhancing task lists, work procedures and instructions Provides input to Maintenance Reliability for engineering modifications needed for plant and equipment Update events and work requests with an accurate scope of work, to support effective planning of work Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of action items affecting equipment reliability About You Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way Millwright / Industrial Mechanic / Heavy Duty Trade/Journeyperson (required) Experience working in a similar role with exposure to maintenance work Maintaining Mine hoist/shaft equipment and underground mining systems (preferred) Working at Heights Ticket (preferred) Ability to work autonomously, or as part of a team Ability to confidently make decisions relating to your work, or escalate if needed Adaptable and responsive to change, as well as learning new information Application Deadline
