Job Description

Grace is seeking a Technician Specialist to join the Analytical Services Center (ASC). This role reports to the Ecat Laboratory Chemist at the ASC in Curtis Bay/Baltimore, MD. As a Technician Specialist and a member of a team, you will be required to a rotating shift schedule that consists of 8 hour shifts, 5 days a week. Overtime may be required, however expected to be minimal. 

Responsibilities Assists engineers and scientists with a variety of laboratory tasks.  Performs chemical analyses and scientific tests using both routine and techniques in compliance with all safety standards.  Log in customer and internal samples Collects, analyzes and processes laboratory samples.  Records results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and prepares reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines. Active participation in required local safety program, along with the ability to work safely and maintain a clean and orderly lab environment.  Operates, maintains and makes basic repairs laboratory test equipment, apparatus, systems and supplies.  Operate and maintain FCC testing equipment, including ACE Catalyst testing units Provides technical product support to customers.  Provides a basic level of product knowledge, assists in trouble shooting, basic start up, and proper application.  Responsible and held accountable for compliance with all Critical Life Safety Policies, Environmental, Health and Safety training, policies and procedures. Physical Requirements and Environment Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft. Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Required Qualifications BS in a STEM discipline, with Chemistry highly preferred. In addition, prior lab experience is highly preferred.  Mechanical aptitude - ability to troubleshoot and repair lab scale equipment Knowledge in basic chemistry, math, and computers.  Experience in laboratory techniques, analytical chemistry or a similar scientific method.  Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Holds safety as a top priority while working in a team setting.  Ability to work independently and self-directed with a proven ability to work according to changing priorities.  Demonstrates strong written and oral communications skills  Benefits
