Mission Technologies (MT), a division of HII, is seeking to hire a Technician to support operations at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).  

 

This full-time position is on-site at NRL on the Maryland side of the Potomac near the southern-most part of  Washington DC.

Essential Job Responsibilities Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Exclude technicians working in production or quality assurance.Minimum Qualifications Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline or 2 years of related experience Ability to obtain and maintain a US level Secret clearance  Preferred Requirements Experience with pulsed power generators as well as fabricating, assembling, and mounting experimental apparatus on such generators Maintenance of large vacuum systmes and familiarity with high voltage capacitor systems  Machine shop, forklift and crane experience  Experience in drafting and machine tool operation An active US level Secret clearance  Physical Requirements May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
