Basic Job Functions
The primary responsibility of this job is to operate Ultra-Pure Water (UPW), Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), Effluent Recycling Plant (ERP-UF/RO) & Drinking water plant processes as per work instructions. Assist in maintaining and upgrading existing UPW/ERP (UF/RO)/DRO equipment and perform day-to-day operational activities. Assist with engineering to develop new operating procedures, conduct plant operational trials and gathering appropriate engineering/operations data. Responsible for maintaining the plant equipment and area in excellent condition to achieve FS goals of safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance. Responsible for maintaining operating logs, metrics, and crew pass downs written and verbal. Responsible for maintaining safe personal and teamwork environment. The person in this role is responsible for conducting routine analysis following defined methods in support of recycling, wastewater, raw material production, EHS, or other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.Roles & Responsibilities
Perform standard tests to ensure proper operation of UPW/ERP (UF/RO)/DRO and related systems while troubleshooting components when there are problems. Perform minor maintenance and repair of equipment, including rebuilding pumps; coordinate standard PMs with the maintenance department Calibrate instrumentation per ISO work instructions Collect process stream samples and perform routine analysis on samples using laboratory equipment Maintain accurate records using databases, spreadsheets, and other computer-based programs Participation in the HAZMAT Response team Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work environment following the 5S standard guidelines. Able to work on other tasks as assigned Responsible for verbal and written shift pass-down communications Maintain inventory of supplies and chemicals. Audit shift data for quality check. Independently perform bench scale studies (Lab work) for new technologies Collect, maintain and interpret data for engineering studies using Microsoft Excel or a similar program. Participate in Risk Assessment studies (JHA's, FMEA, LOTO, and Work Instructions) Assist with coordinating the day-to-day operations and tasks.Education & Experience:
Diploma holder in Chemistry/Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical/Applied Chemistry or equivalent 2-4 years of work experience in a relevant field Intermediate knowledge of standard software (MS Office suite, JMP) Ability to use analytical skills to read charts and graphs to find trends Good communication skills required Ability to multi-task Other duties as assigned Job description subject to change at any time Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English & Tamil languagesBehavioral Skills & Physical requirements
Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day Will climb stairs on an occasional basis 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to, steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron, and arm guards) All associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair)Potential candidates will meet the education and experience requirements provided on the above job description and excel in completing the listed responsibilities for this role.
