We have an immediate opportunity for a part-time (48 hours/pay period) Ultrasound Technologist. Successful candidate will have graduated, or be graduating, from an accredited school of diagnostic ultrasound and be registered, or registry eligible.  Ultrasound background to include OB, abdomen, small parts, breast and peripheral vascular. This position provides the opportunity to work with an onsite Radiologist performing invasive procedures.

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasound equipment to provide the Radiologist with an accurate record of the designated portions of the patient’s body.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Enters all exam charges into system and/or directs them to Material Services and Pharmacy as appropriate.Performs high quality ultrasound examinations on patients of all ages, addressing and responding to their individual needs appropriately.Works with the Radiologist to learn and follow their preferred imaging protocols, and to provide them with accurate information regarding the patient’s symptoms and physical history.Maintains exam room, equipment and supplies in an orderly fashion, so as to always be ready for the next patient.Maintains education, knowledge, and training required to provide up-to-date quality care to patients and to stay current with CEU requirements to include but not limited to ARRT and/or ARDMS.Maintains accurate records to meet regulatory and professional standards.Participates in a call rotation to include holidays and weekends in order to provide emergency ultrasound coverage for Hutchinson Health and Olivia Health Care patients 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.Possesses the ability to react objectively, using good judgment in crisis situations and on specific issues.Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Education, Training or Degree Required:

Graduate from an accredited school of Ultrasound and/or Radiologic Technology.Satisfactory completion of a clinical rotation in Radiology and/or Ultrasound prior to graduation.

License/Registration/Certification Required: (will be primary source verified by HR)

ARRT and / or ARDMS Certified or ARDMS Registry eligible.Registered Vascular Technologist or Registry eligible.Current CPR certification requiredMust have valid Driver’s License and/or transportation to report to work in Hutchinson and Olivia, MN

Experience and Skills: (indicate preferred or required)

Two years training under a qualified and licensed Radiologist as stated by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or requirements set up as part of ultrasound school/program required.Must have good working knowledge of anatomy; understanding principles of physics, sound waves, and methods of scanning to obtain the required images and be able to set up and operate equipment. Knowledge of how to maintain system of records, and understand the variations of anatomical positions such as supine, prone, lateral, upright, and trendelenburg rquired.Have sufficient knowledge of patient care and sterile techniques to deal with all types of conditions in the exam room, bedside, and OR required.
