Job Description:

At Regions, the Business Unit Risk Liaison partners with senior leaders to strengthen the risk management culture across the business units within Regions. This position will work with the Business Unit and the centralized Risk Management department to assist in identifying and assessing the severity and impact of various risks.

Primary Responsibilities

Serves as the connection point and subject-matter expert between business units and Risk Management by fostering partnerships and collaborating as a liaison with other business and functional areasProvides risk management consultation for risk identification, defines remediation efforts, and evaluates control design and effectiveness for problem/issue mitigationUtilizes a knowledge of different risk types in identifying which risks could be affected by changes both internally and externally (e.g. new business offerings, retiring of offerings, policies and regulations)Identifies Key Risk Indicators (KRI’s) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to evaluate performance against desired stateServes as an escalation point to support risk assessments with cross-functional teams to ensure the program is effective and scales across all business units, while understanding, recommending, and presenting leadership with recommendations to resolve any gapsDevelops improvement approaches across the Bank that are holistic, and customer focusedIdentifies and helps prioritize new initiatives to drive business strategy, mitigate potential risks and control gaps, financial return, and/or positive customer impactContinuously monitors control compliance and prevalent risk environment to ensure that exposures are kept at acceptable levelsProvides advice and guidance on high-complexity issues and projectsMay assist in developing metrics, models, and tools to create and analyze risk loss estimates and other capital planning documentationMay design, develop, and implement independent reporting and/or financial analysis to assist in the business’ oversight role and may design and deliver executive-level presentationsMay assist in the creation of documentation for external parties such as regulators and auditors

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED and eleven (11) years of experience in risk management, consulting, or financial industryOr Bachelor’s Degree and seven (7) years of experience in risk management, consulting, or financial industry

Preferences

Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management practices and toolsGovernance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) experience (RSA Archer platform)Relative certifications that can be applied to risk management (e.g. CPA, CIA, CRCM, CAMS, CRMP, CRM, CPMP)Six Sigma certifications

At Regions, the Technology and Data Risk Business Unit (BU) Risk Liaison role is responsible for advising Technology, Operations, Digital Data (TODD) BU on Information Technology (IT) and Data business decisions. This role is vital to ensuring consistent execution of risk programs to ensure effective risk management of the first line environment. This position will report directly to the Manager of Technology and Data Risk Management (TDRM) within TODD Risk.

Assist in execution of the Risk program components, including frameworks, reporting, policies, standards, and procedures across TODD.

TDRM BU Risk Liaison advises and conducts risk assessments and reviews in technology functions responsible for application development, cybersecurity, data governance, enterprise architecture, business resilience and change management.

Identifies, monitors, and report risks that are emerging for TODD BU’s through risk reviews and testing of controls within the IT and Data environment.

Advises on plans, priorities, and challenges within the specific TODD BU to ensure IT risk impacts are appropriately considered and evaluated.

Conducts routine monitoring and oversight of IT and Data risk across TODD BU and provides recommendations and challenge, as necessary.

Creates and monitors metrics to aid in driving effective monitoring of the control environment.

Assist in the execution of targeted risk assessments, issues management outreach, and control standards mapping for the TODD Business Unit.

Provides regulatory exam and audit support for TODD BU partners.

Provides project management of multiple initiatives while adhering to deadlines.

Obtains and maintains necessary training to keep current on the discipline of Risk Management

Solves a range of complex problems and consistently provide solutions in support of the TODD BU.

Preferences

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or other related disciplines.

7+ years’ experience in IT risk management, IT Audit, cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting

Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications).

Project Management Professional (PMP) and Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification.

Agile certification, Scrum Master, Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Professional Scrum Master One (PSM1) certification.

Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) or other applicable certifications.

Knowledge and Skills

Motivated, self-driven, purposeful with experience engaging with business and technology leaders to help structure sound technology and cyber risk processes, controls, policies, and standards.

Comfortable dealing with complex challenges and problem-solving autonomously, including the ability to research solutions independently.

Ability to build strong partnerships with stakeholders.

Ability to provide consultative leadership demonstrating initiative to independently own a process and project.

This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the primary locations being for Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$147,900.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance.
