Emerson is seeking a diligent Technology Export Specialist to support global trade compliance initiatives in Marshalltown, IA. This role ensures adherence to U.S. export regulations, manages technology transfer processes, and provides mentorship on regulatory matters. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Coordinate with Global Technology Export Control Manager and other trade compliance personnel to understand the requirements global export controls impose on Flow Controls systems, locations, and processes. Coordinate with subject matter experts, Information Owners, and Information Custodians to ensure that required export controls are accurately applied and maintained in Flow Controls systems, locations, and processes. Perform activities in support of existing export controls, such as: Apply export classifications to drawings and documents in Solidworks. Conduct periodic audits of export control efficiency in systems. Document specific export control procedures as they apply to systems. Provide support and mentorship to users of affected systems. Participate in discussions of export controls and how they might be applied in particular situations. For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelors Degree An ability to navigate complicated regulatory and technical information, understand what the regulations require, evaluate which Flow Controls technology the regulations apply to, and develop a strategy for applying required export controls. Ability to work with diverse and varied teams across functional groups and communicate clearly and according to the audience. Ability to work independently with accurate guidance and support. Flexibility in navigating changing requirements and priorities in the face of changing regulations and emerging technologies. Proficiency with standard computer applications and an ability to learn nonstandard applications with appropriate training. Proficiency working with and analyzing large data sets in standard applications. Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Degree or equivalent experience in a technical/STEM field, e.g. engineering, sciences, computer sciences, technology or similar Existing knowledge and experience with Flow Controls (or similar) products and business systems. Existing knowledge and experience with U.S. or global export regulations. Existing knowledge and experience with Microsoft automation and data analysis tools.
